Second Half of Itzl's Door Alert
Originally uploaded by nodigio.

Time Online has an article in it about Dog Beer, made in the Netherlands. He makes his with beef and malt and extra minerals.

Because Itzl desperately loves drinking from bottles (bottled water is easier to haul than bowls of it) and he also desperately wants to drink my Dr. Pepper, wine, juice, or whatever I'm having, I have made special Puppy Mead for him - honey and chicken, slightly fizzy, no alcohol.

He loves drinking it whenever I drink from a bottle myself. Because he's been so deeply acclimated to human culture, he may think he's a very small human. After all, I expect him to earn his kibble and toys by being my service partner. He has a lot of work to do for that little walnut sized brain of his.

He's not a big beef eater, but he adores buffalo. I wonder if I use a bufflao essence and mesquite honey, if I can brew up a dark "beer" to go with Itzl's mead?

I can create a whole line of Booze Hound Brews.

And making other brewskies for, say, cats (I think a creme soda, easy on the fizz and heavy on the tuna might be acceptable), rats (they'll drink most anything, just in rat-sized bottles), and ferrets (de-caf, of course, ferrets don't need any encouragement to be any more hyper than they already are).

I'd never thought of marketing Itzl's mead to other pet owners, but I could do it. What regulations are there for making pet beverages?

My research tonight is cut out for me.

I have now made, tested, and taste tested enough recipes onna stick to put together the cookbook. I have to remake them now so they are photogenic, and perhaps get a good photographer (or one better with better equipment than I have) to get good pictures. I want photos of every recipe, even if I don't use them all.

Now comes the hard part - reconciling Vlad with food. I may ask my artist friend about some illustrations because obviously I won't be able to get photos of hte real Vlad. I can, however, get nifty photos of vampiric friends munching down on these stick foods.

I will have plenty of standard recipes in there, but I can't resist the recipes for Soda onna Stick, oatmeal onna stick, soup onna stick, and a few other stick eats.

Once I am closer to pulling it all together, I'll start shipping it to publishers. I have a few in mind...

If you're as multi-tasky as I am, just doing your food diary for getting your permaculture kitchen together doesn't feel like you're doing enough.

Don't worry, there are plenty of other things you'll need to do to prepare yourself for that permaculture kitchen.

See, the food diary is the first step towards designing the kitchen.

Now you need to work on redesigning yourself so you can use that kitchen once it's built.

And sorry, but no cheating and getting ahead and building a permaculture kitchen before you're ready for it. If you do that, jump in and build the kitchen, you might discover that it won't work for you because it doesn't suit your needs and your lifestyle, and you'll have to start all over again.

That would suck.

So, to prepare yourself for using a permaculture kitchen, here are a few things you can do:

Throughout the year, I'll revisit some of these techniques with more in-depth talk about them, pictures, and links on getting more information.
