Mystery Critter Solved!

Kitten. Why did I never think "kitten"?

Early this morning, when walking the dogs, one of the little girls down the street asked me if I'd seen her Christmas kitten, it had gotten lost with all the people coming and going and she was afraid she'd never see it again.

I walked with her a ways and we peered up into trees. I reassured her that kittens were survivors and I was sure we'd find her kitty soon. I just didn't realize how soon.

After I got home, I did some cleaning, and then I rattled the treat jar for my daughter's kitties, and they were joined by a strange kitty - a brindle kitten with blue eyes.

I fed it treats and it allowed me to coax it into the kitty carrier. Once in, I took it down to the little girl, who freaked out and was so joyful she danced and screamed for a good 10 minutes.

I gave them a coupon for a microchipping in case the kitty got lost again.

So, mystery solved and a little girl made very happy.

Hurray for kitty-family reunions! (Especially around holidays.)

Huh, I never thought kitten either. I'm glad the mystery is solved and everybody is happy -- but I wonder how it got into your house?

That's easy enough - probably when I left the back door open for while when I was doing some yardwork the day the kitten disappeared.
