For those who want to read the uncut versions of my posts at my wordpress blog (which is mostly a mirror of this blog), you can subscribe to it ("friend" it) as ebonypearlword.
I put everything here behind a cut tag because LJ has not defined what constitutes an "adult"blog. I consider my blog to be an "adult" blog, but if I rate it that with LJ, they treat it as if it were pornographic. I do not approve of equating "adult" with "pornography". Therefore, so long as LJ conflates those two I will continue to blog adultly behind a cut. I do not write "pornography" on this blog,I write about adult concerns on adult issues using adult language.
I do write erotica (and perhaps it strays into pornography), but not here. And if I did post erotica or pornography on lj, I would not give it an "adult" tag or status. I'd call it what it was without euphemisms: erotica or pornography.
And why we are so ashamed/afraid/embarrassed of words like "erotica" or "pornography" that we had to ruin perfectly functional words that mean something completely different? Words like "adult" and "mature" should not be obscenities nor should they evoke "pornography" when seen or spoken.
I write an adult blog. I do not write a pornography blog, or a blog of obscenities, or vulgarities. There's nothing wrong with blogs with those contents, and I am perfectly happy with those blogs being labeled "not child-safe" or "not child-friendly". I resent them being labeled "adult" or "mature".
So, I cut-tag my adult-oriented blog.
But if you don't want to deal with cut tags, you can read this through ebonypearlword.
Wordpress lacks the ease of commenting and interaction lj has, but I find it a more elegant interface.
