It was not until I got into reading the stories in Eric Flint's 1632-verse, especially the short pieces in the Grantville Gazette e-books, that I ran across the explanation of *why* the Catholic church [and several of the other Protestant sects also] were so furious over the Anabaptist movement, not to mention what the term "Anabaptist" actually meant.
