So, even though I brought my teeny EeePC with me and was able to connect everywhere in the hotel, and I spent way more time online than I probably should have, I still didn't manage to blog much more than a complajavascript:void(0);int about crying babies. In addition to Conestoga, there was some sort of Kid's Camp going on. Few of the children in the hotel were with ConKin. Most of them were in rooms (mostly on the floor we stayed on) with crafts, story hours, and little classes when they weren't in the pool or soaking the elevators. It made walking sometimes treacherous, so I had to be extra vigilant not to wrench my healing knees by slipping in all the water puddles. And the crying babies at 4:30 a.m. were not fun.
Except for the Kid's Camp thing, the Con itself was quite fun.
I got to meet up with (and sometimes merely see from a distance) a lot of people: bat_cheva,

I made it to a few panels,which were,as always,worth the effort.
I met a few people I normally only pass in the halls because they would be taking with others. I guess this year because I spent way more time sitting in the hall chairs, there was time to meet and greet. The most memorable was Marty. We had an amazing amount of stuff in common even if he is a personal trainer and physical therapist. We talked about mythology, fairytales, writing, and paranormal investigations, then met again in Peni Griffin's writing panel. I was privileged to lend him my computer for the exercises since he neglected to bring writing materials. I hope we meet up again next year since, like a ditz, I forgot to get contact information.
I took Peni Griffin's writing panel, then had a lovely talk with her in the hall. I don't read a lot of YA books since my kids grew up, but perhaps I should change that. Peni is a lovely and delightful woman, and I'm off to read her website.
