Short of being abandoned on a lush deserted isle as soon as you were on solid food or deliberately kept isolated from all living contact as some science experiment, everyone has a mentor or influential person in their life. Most of us have multiple such people. This influence can be positive or negative.

I've been fortunate to have had only 2 seriously negative influences in my life and thousands of positive ones.
