Another friend has died. I will be officiating at the memorial service.
I have become too familiar with these rites.
The death is not as hard as helping others handle the loss, the guilt, the loneliness that engulfs the survivors. He was mostly Christian, not really sure, a seeker, but when he was diagnosed with an aggressive late stage cancer, he sought solace in his birth religion, especially towards the end, and his family is holding a Christian service for him and his Catholic friends.
He asked that I officiate a Numenist memorial service for him and his Numenist and Pagan friends.
I'm honored to do so.
