The puppies are back from the vet and down to just one round of vaccinations and their spaying left. Two more vet visits this year.
I gave each puppy some pain meds because the lyme vaccinations are very painful. Right now, both of them are asleep with a paw resting on their kongs full of treats - too sluggish and hurty to eat their treats and yet too doggy to let them go.
Xoco wants to be right beside me, but if I get up and leave, all she does is watch mournfully.
Rhapsody doesn't even twitch, but she's breathing and moves if I touch her.
Neither one is showing signs of a bad reaction, just the normal hurty lethargy of post-vaccination.
Itzl sticks close to me as usual, working hard, but he takes breaks to go check on them.
I took them all out to potty, and the girls did their business where I set them and then lay down, so I carried both back inside.
Since I am without transportation today, I suppose I could do worse than cuddle hurty puppies all day.
I wish the mechanic had been able to get to my car to complete its check-up and trace down the short in the dashboard, but I understand that the police cars took precedence. Pity the local police were so careless as to be the cause of traffic accidents that put their cars ahead of mine. We have so few police cars here in town that even having one out of commission is tragic.
I'm glad the puppies are having a normal reaction because it's a long, hot walk to the vet's office.
