I'd best be careful putting my name to anything because it will lead directly back to me. I can't get up to weird hijinks unless I'm willing to have my name associated with it.

Ah well, having a rare name will make it easier to "brand" things with it. And - another up side to having a rare name - it's not likely to be stolen because the thief won't be able to hide among others of a like name.

I know there's a cartoon character bearing my name in England (I say it bears my name because I am older than the cartoon), and there's an old Elizabethan card game called "Noddy" - cribbage before the crib. It was described in Almond for Parrat in 1589.

Since the name's been around for so long, I wonder why fewer people are named "Noddy"?

It's a great name. If you hear Noddy, you know it's you. I think it would be difficult to be one of hundreds and thousands of Marys or Jennifers or whatever.

I think so, too. Downside is it sounds a lot like "naughty", and sometimes I think people are talking about me when they aren't.

I recently wrote a story where I used your name for a minor character. Just felt like the right name to use. :)

Heh. About 35 years ago, there's another author who used one of my names in her novel. If I live another 35 years, maybe someone else will use it agian.

That's another name I'd think would have more bearers; it's been around long enough.
