The old showerhead broke. It was only a matter of time, since I'd purchased the cheapest one I could find. I'm pleased it lasted 8 years, but when I went out today to buy a replacement, I chose a slightly more expensive model. This new showerhead has a pause option so it slows the water to a trickle when I shampoo my hair - reducing water use.
It also has a low flow misting option that's very good at rinsing off soap as well as the high power low flow option that is perfect for rinsing my inevitably long hair (I cut it to shoulder length 2 months ago, it's almost waist length again).
All it took to change showerheads was a piece of plumber's tape and a crescent wrench.
