I don't remember if I blogged this or not, but remember when J. K. Rowling auctioned off that handwritten copy of Beedle the Bard and Amazon.com won it?

I commented at the time that it was only a matter of time before it was published for the general public.

I expected Amazon.com to wait a year then be the first to publish it in a really expensive limited edition so they could recoup their expense in winning the auction. I also expected it would be approximately a year after Amazon's publication that it would be produced in a mass market copy.

So I was wrong - both are coming out apparently simultaneously this coming December.
