To essentially throw a temper tantrum and ill-wish our president and our country because his candidate of choice lost is irresponsible and childish. I lost all respect for Rush Limbaugh when he ceased to be an impartial critic of government policies and became the blinkered and biased rah-rah man for the Republicans. This outpouring of vituperation for our duly elected president only emphasizes how deeply biased he is.

Obama will make mistakes. He’ll do things some, maybe even most of us, will disagree with at times. He’ll do things that seem good and right when he does them that will play out disastrously. He, like all our past presidents, will need to be watched and supervised. Bush left him a legacy of great control and power far in excess of what his office should have, and that bears close scrutiny to see what he does with it and if he restores the balance. He needs us to work with him to restore and rebuild America, to survive and thrive through the coming years. He does not need any of us wishing failure upon him, because wishing Obama to fail is wishing America to fail.

Rush is speaking from a bruised ego and he’s lashing out in childish ways. A real man would give this some thought and admit his personal feelings of anger that his chosen candidate lost, then move on to the task at hand, which is to offer constructive criticism and to point out the flaws in the new administration. There will be flaws.

There’s no need to stoop to petty ill-wishing.

I never did like Limbaugh. He's always seemed childish and needlessly ill-tempered and petty to me... I ignore him. But doing something like that does sound right down his alley.

Limbaugh is a junkie, and acts like it. Whether his junk is drugs, booze or Gawd, he still has all the addict behaviors, just like Bush did.

I think it's ironic, in a funny sort of way, that wanting a president to fail is only bad when it's liberals wishing for it.

Of course I also find it ironic that when Rush says he hopes Obama's socialism fails, he's tacitly admitting that it might succeed.

I happen to be a conservative, and I don't care if it's a liberal or a conservative saying they want our president to fail. Saying they want specific measures or policies to fail is one thing (I did that a lot during all previous administrations); to ill-wish the president's entire administration is completely different.

Having once lived in a socialist country, what Obama is doing is nothing like socialism.
