More Ice

It's still sleeting outside.

It's been sleeting now for 36 hours (give or take half an hour). Today's high never reached the predicted 35 degrees F, it never even reached 20 degrees. Tomorrow may reach the low 30's.

I just got confirmation that tomorrow will be another ice day.

Under normal circumstances - my car in working condition and my knees and thigh healed from the accident - I'd be expected to go to work as I'm considered "essential personnel", but because I'm depending on a carpool where no one else is essential personnel, I am being allowed to take the days off as if I weren't essential.

When I do go back to work on Thursday, there will be enough ice in the parking lot and on the sidewalks that I will walk with my cane and wear my ice creepers on my shoes.

I will bake cookies or brownies or something as compensation for not working those days. For giggles, I may make some snowman droppings (marshmallows hated and reshaped into "turd" shapes) and icicles (clear icicle shaped lollipops).

We dodged the bullet. Big time. No ice, no snow, just a bit of a glaze here and there on bridges. I drove to work today in low-traffic, almost dry roads.

It rained. I like rain. The temperature dipped a bit about 4 or 5 this morning, but the huge freeze they'd predicted did not happen, nor did the snow.

Just rain. Rain is cool.

Stay safe and warm.

It's already 5 degrees warmer than it was at its warmest yesterday. If I were driving, I'd have gone in to work today, but since I still rely on someone else until my car is finished, I get an extra day off.

My co-workers aren't too happy about it, and, to be honest, neither am I, but that's life.
