Itzl Update
Itzl went to the vet today for a check-up on his ear.
The vet says there's still a hole in his ear drum, a very visible hole, but no infection.
He goes back again 2 more weeks, and once the hole is healed up, he has an appointment with a canine audiologist to see if he has any hearing loss.
So far, except that he decided he was terrified of the vet, he hasn't had a noticeable loss of ability in alerting on sounds.
By the end of the vet visit, he was much more relaxed. A couple of visits where he doesn't get stuck with needles, locked in cages, and separated from me, and he'll be calm about the vet again.
He was so funny. Itzl refused to look at the vet, which made it difficult for the vet to check his tonsils. I'd tell Itzl to open his mouth, and he would, facing me with his back to the vet. I finally held up a mirror and that's how the vet saw what she needed to see.
The vet could check his ears without any trouble though because she didn't need Itzl to face her for that.
The closest canine audiologist is in Ohio and then after that in Connecticut, so we have a road trip in the near future, and where we go depends upon who's accepting appointments.
