Friends and Movies

My daughter and I were discussing movies and how we couldn't be friends with people who didn't like certain movies, a litmus test for becoming friends, as it were.

What we decided was that here were a few key movies that they had to like in order to be compatible, and certain movies they had to get (they didn't have to like them, just had to understand them) or they wouldn't be smart enough to be comfortable being our friends, and a few others that they had to find funny or they wouldn't understand our sense of humor.

So, folks who like and enjoy the following movies will probably be compatible with me:
Fantasia
Labyrinth
Stranger Than Fiction
Stardust
Enchanted
Classic Trek
Star Wars (The Phantom Menace)
Winterhawk
Dreamkeeper
Quidam
Addams Family TV series

Movies my friends need to understand in order to understand me:
Quills
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Wicker Man
Chocolat
Dead Poet Society
Toys
She-Devil
Willard
Pan's Labyrinth
Allegria
Boston legal TV Series

And to sync with my sense of humor they have to find these movies funny:
Spaceballs
Ice Pirates
The Pirate Movie
Shaun of the Dead
Wagons East
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Reckless Kelly
Bernard and the Genie
Court Jester
Victor/Victoria
Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Dead Like Me TV Series

I suppose this can also be done with music, books, comics, and fine art pieces. For example, if you can't understand the Rhodan sculptures, we probably won't connect very well on some topics.

So, what about you guys? What movies do you think would be markers to indicate if someone would be a compatible friend, what movies, music, books, or comics? I chose 10 (plus a TV series) for each category, but you can choose less or more.

Sounds good to me. I'm not intimately familiar with ALL the listed things, but certainly enough of them to (hopefully) qualify.
