1) Is your kitchen large, medium, or small?
Large, but not well appointed. I'm changing that slowly.
2) How many people do you typically feed at the main meal of the day?
It fluctuates so much I really couldn't say. Anywhere between 3 and 7 most days.
3) How often do you cook recipes that require assembly (rather than just heating premade items)?
I rarely use pre-made ingredients, so I have to say almost every meal, as well as snacks.
4) What is your favorite heat-producing kitchen appliance?
My new stove.
5) What is your favorite non-heat-producing appliance?
My knife.
6)How do you feel about kitchen gadgets and do you use any?
I am a gadget slut, and I use all I own often, many at least once a week and the rest seasonally. Some I use for special events. I like the Magic Bullet and the GT Express 101 a lot. I have a toaster oven I use often, and a toaster. I have crockpots (5 - I think I finally have enough to host the Green Room and parties) and bread machines (3 - and I wish I had at least 2 more so I could easily make Peter Maxx Bread, except then I'd need more outlets in my house). I have specialty knives and peelers and installed an instant hot water dispenser in my sink.I have a small collection of retro appliances - a popcorn popper, a hot dog roller, a shake maker, except mine are old ones I bought back in the 50's and 60's. I also have the KitchenAid stand mixer from the 70's that I still use. I don't throw appliances away and they keep working for me for decades.
The one appliance I rarely use is the microwave. I mostly use that for melting chocolate and occasionally reheating things.
7) Do you cook from recipes, by intuition, or both ways?
Both ways.
8) How many cookbooks do you have?
A lot. Over 100.Maybe over 300.
