Neither. I prefer face-to-face,and failing that - email. Next would be snail mail. After that,probably smoke signals and hobo signs. I'm not averse to skywriting, which is a form of smoke signals. Notes passed from hand to hand also works,as is leaving notes on message boards or in the paper. Only when there is absolutely no other alternative will I consider telephones or texting.

I hate text-speak so texting would be the absolute last communication choice for me.

Dude, I am so phone averse that my sister is paying for me to have a cell phone so she can talk to me,and I usually forget I have it (I can't hear it ring). I end up emailing her a week or so after I notice I have a voicemail from her number.

I hate talking on the phone but love texting, I write properly spelled and punctuated text messages, there is absolutely no need to do otherwise.

Just between those two, I vastly prefer texting. I'm very visual and have trouble processing speech over the phone for some reason even though my hearing is perfect (seriously, I spend half of any given phone conversation going "Whut?"), plus answering machines/voicemail make me nervous, so I just really, really hate talking on the phone. I'm far more likely to drop someone a text message than to call them.

I do use proper grammar and spelling when I text, though - text speak is hard to decipher, and besides, I see enough of that playing WoW. :)
