Snow

We have snow mixed with rain, but no sleet.

I cut all my bulb flowers because the cold will just freeze them. The buds I put under cloches so when it warms back up on Sunday, they'll be ready to bloom again. The potato sprouts, lettuces, fairy garden, herbs, and such that weren't harvest ready are under covers. What could be harvested I harvested, so now I have mints, sages, rosemary, thyme, oregano, and dandelion buds and blossoms drying, violets are in the process of being candied, frozen, and made into syrup. Redbud buds are being frozen, made into syrup, and jellied. Dandelion leaves are being dried and frozen. Everything else can wait - and will.

We're under a tomato tornado watch.

I have gardening on my mind, obviously...

I never set veggies out before MedFair. We always get one bout of cold weather just before or just after, so I only grow what's perennial before the Faire.

But after - peas, beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, squashes, carrots, kohlrabis, broccoli, raab, cabbages, cauliflowers, rutabagas, celery, basils, dill, and more get planted out wherever there's space.
